ose of you who prefer a more informative definition, there is one at hand: "Fair Trade is a trading partnership based on dialogue, transparency and respect that seeks greater equity in trade. It contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions to, and securing the rights of
, marginalized producers and workers. Fair Trade Organizations (backed by consumers) are engaged actively in supporting producers, awareness raising and in campaigning fo changes in the rules and practice of conventioanl international trade." Still curious? Still confused? It's okay. It can get complicated. But the underlying issue remains the same, fair trade means to provide sustainable wages to the laborers who provide us with our products. Fair trade is the just way of doing business. One day, it'll be the only way of doing business. Until that time, promote as much as you can.
